Britain's Air War - WWII

First Blood to the Auxiliaries.
Flight Lieutenant Pat Gifford of 603 (City of Edinburgh) Squadron Royal Auxiliary Air Force downs the RAF's first enemy aircraft of the war, causing it to ditch in the Forth estuary near Prestonpans on the 16th October 1939. A second Junkers Ju 88 would be shot down by 602 (City of Glasgow) Squadron a few minutes later.
