Squadron Leader Kenny Reeves MBE, RAF (Ret'd)

My background

I'm a former RAF Squadron Leader with over 30 years and 5000 hours of front-line military fast-jet flying experience ranging from Cold War Battle Flight in Germany to operations over Bosnia, Iraq and many places in between.
Much of my career was spent as a fighter QWI (Qualified Weapons Instructor, or Fighter Weapons School graduate in US terms) where conducting and teaching the art (and science) of Air Combat was  part of my day job.

Now it's all about the art!

My background

I use a variety of different media, working primarily with acrylics or graphite pencil  for my more 'traditional' work but I also use digital media for illustrative work, often scanning in a pencil composition and using it as a basis for a digital painting.

If you look in my store, you'll find available some of those pencil sketches that I felt were good enough to stand up in their own right, as well as some of my acrylic originals.

Flares, military aircraft, combat aircraft, Tornado

Military flying, even after leaving the Royal Air Force, remains a passion and I try to translate my extensive hands-on airborne experience into military aviation artwork that I hope gives you an insight into what it's actually like up in the wild blue yonder, pulling 'g' and 'touching the face of God' as John Gillespie Magee so wonderfully put it.
